Description

Tramic is an antifibrinolytic medication used to prevent and treat excessive bleeding caused by conditions such as surgical procedures, heavy menstrual bleeding, postpartum hemorrhage, and hemophilia. It works by inhibiting plasminogen activation, preventing the breakdown of fibrin clots, and reducing excessive blood loss. Uses and Doses

Ceramic is used for the prevention and treatment of hemorrhagic conditions caused by various medical and surgical conditions.

• Adults (General Dose):
  • 500-1000 mg three times daily.
• Prophylaxis (Preventive Treatment):
  • 500 mg per day orally or by intravenous/intramuscular injection.
• Treatment of Active Bleeding:
  • 1-3 gm per day in divided doses.
  • For urgent cases, an initial 500 mg IV injection followed by oral maintenance therapy is recommended.
• Children divided dose,
  • 5-10 mg per kg of body weight per des.
  • 10-20 mg/kg per day for active bleeding cases.
  • IV treatment: 10 mg/kg slow IV push followed by oral administration.
• Elderly Patients:
  • No dose adjustment is required unless there is renal impairment.

Side Effects

Ceramic is generally well tolerated, but some patients may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, fatigue, nasal congestion, or skin rash. In rare cases, orthostatic hypotension, allergic reactions, or clot formation in the urinary tract may occur. If signs of severe allergic reactions or thrombotic events appear, discontinue use immediately.

How to Use

Tramic should be taken with or without food, as directed by a healthcare professional. Swallow the capsule whole with water. If used for surgical prophylaxis, start treatment 24 hours before surgery and continue for 3-4 days post-operation.
