Description:
Ferisen 500/10-IV is an intravenous infusion of Ferric Carboxymaltose, manufactured by Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited. This treatment replenishes iron reserves and helps to manage iron deficiency anemia, especially for those who are intolerant to oral iron.

Ingredients:

For patients over 50 kg: Administer 750 mg of Ferric Carboxymaltose in two doses, separated by at least seven days, not exceeding 1500 mg. For patients under 50 kg: Administer 15 mg/kg body weight in two doses. The treatment may be repeated if iron deficiency anemia reoccurs.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, hypertension, nausea, dizziness, facial flushing, and reactions at the injection site. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions may occur.

How to Use:
Administer intravenously, either undiluted as a slow IV push or diluted in 0.9% Sodium Chloride. Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions during and after infusion.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Classified as Pregnancy Category C. Although animal studies have shown potential risks, the benefits may outweigh the risks for pregnant women. Caution is advised during lactation.

Precautions and Warnings:
Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions during and after administration. Personnel should be available to manage severe allergic reactions. Monitor blood pressure as a transient rise may occur.

Safety Information:
Avoid extravasation, as it may cause brown discoloration. Do not administer to patients with known hypersensitivity to Ferric Carboxymaltose.
