Uses and Doses

Adults (13 years and older):

• Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis: 250 mg twice daily for 5-10 days

• Chronic bronchitis exacerbation: 250-500 mg twice daily for 10 days
• Skin infections: 250-500 mg twice daily for 10 days
• Urinary tract infections: 250 mg twice daily for 7-10 days
• Gonorrhea: 1000 mg single dose
• Pneumonia: 250-500 mg twice daily for 5-10 days
• Early Lyme disease: 500 mg twice daily for 20 days

Children (3 months to 12 years):

• Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis: 20 mg/kg/day in divided doses for 5-10 days
• Acute otitis media: 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses for 10 days
• Sinusitis: 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses for 10 days
• Pneumonia: 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses for 5-10 days

Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort
• Rare: Renal failure, anaphylaxis, angioedema, pruritis, rash, serum sickness

How to Use
